Codethink has a worldwide reach whilst based in the city centre of Manchester. This allows employees to choose their commute or to live nearby giving access to living in the centre of one of the most vibrant, fun, interesting cities around.

Manchester is the economic and cultural centre of North West area of England and is large enough to have everything a large city is expected to whilst also being small enough to get out of quickly into some of the most beautiful countryside and towns and villages that the UK has to offer from the Roman/Viking towns of Chester and York to the National Parks of “The Lake District” and “The Peak District” to name just a few that are accessible by train within an hour or two.

Manchester also has a large international airport beaten in size and number of destinations by only 2 of London’s airports and offers access directly to destinations around the world, especially Europe and the USA.

What we do:

We specialise in system-level software infrastructure to support advanced technical applications, working across a range of industries including, automotive, medical, telecoms and finance.

Typically we get involved in software architecture, design, development, integration, debugging and improvement on the deep scary plumbing code that makes most folks run away screaming. When we are in a room our technical knowledge, thoughts, advice and opinions count to our clients.

We are expert in Free/Libre and Open Source Software (F/LOSS). We participate in upstream and are active contributors to the Linux kernel and a wide range of F/LOSS projects, processes and cultures.
